When I design horse hair jewelry, there are three things that are elementary for me: deep feelings for horses, perfect artisanry and the undeniably unique and elegant Silberschweif appearance.
Deep feelings for horses This is what moves me to treat the horse hairs entrusted to me with the utmost respect and care.These are priceless and irreplaceable, especially when they are from much loved friends who have passed over the rainbow bridge. It is simply wonderful to be able to carry a tiny piece of our beloved companions with us everywhere we go. This is what makes jewelry made of horse hair so special. The creation of horse hair jewelry is my passion because I know very well from my own experience what a joy it is to possess such a unique and individual adornment which symbolizes such an exceptional connection to these fabulous creatures.
Perfect artisanry, when working with precious metals as well as during the braiding process, is elementary for me. Every single detail must be exactly correct from a craftsman's as well as from an artisan's point of view. Braiding horse hair requires extreme care and ability. The horse hair, with its smoothness, strength and elasticity must be tamed. The finer the plaiting, the finer the result - only in this manner can I produce the clear eloquence of form that I need to express the deep feelings of love and respect for these awe inspiring beings.
Silberschweif appearance, its in the name. I combine artistically plaited horse hair with silver jewelry elements and clasps. The silver accents are meant to enhance the beauty of the horse hairs, not override it.
8 ct, 14 ct or 18 ct gold jewelry elements and clasps can be integrated in my creations on special order.
